July 1, Wednesday:  Depart Hometowns for Lourdes via Paris

July 2, Thursday
:
  Arrive Lourdes – transfer to Youth Village and or Hotel.  Evening gathering with welcome, review of guidelines, icebreakers, division into small groups and special Mass for high school pilgrims.

July 3, Friday
:
“ Orientation to the day for the youth.” Meet some of the sick and handicapped pilgrims being assisted during the week. Opening Mass U.S.  National Rosary Pilgrimage at the outside altar of St. Bernadette; followed by an orientation tour of the Domain and video: “The Life of Bernadette and the Message of Lourdes.” Afternoon gathering of group members, Garden of the Galia Londre Hotel. Hike to the Chateau Fort to take in an aerial view of Lourdes. Dinner.  Evening participate in the Torchlight Procession of Lourdes.

July 4, Saturday
:  Mass at the Grotto. followed by a walking tour of Lourdes, visiting the places associated with the life of St. Bernadette, the Boly Mill where Bernadette was born, the Locade Mill, Residence of her parents after 1864, the “Cachot,” formerly used as a jail where she lived at the time of her apparitions, the Hospital and chapel where Bernadette received her first Holy Communion and the Parish Church containing the Baptismal Font where Bernadette was baptized.

Afternoon participate in the Eucharistic Procession, Benediction and Blessing of the Sick.

Evening Torchlight Procession followed by Marian Holy Hours at the Rosary Basilica led by the Comunita Cenacolo (www.communitacenacolo.it). Join the remainder of the Group for 4th of July Celebrations.

July 5, Sunday:
Participate in the International Mass of Lourdes. Lunch. Depart by motor coach into the Pyrenees Mountains for a scenic excursion to Gavarnie. Gavarnie was the first village in France in the middle Ages on the Old Route to the Tomb of St. James at Santiago de Compostella. The Cirque Gavarnie is the most famous place in the Pyrenees and is home to the highest waterfall in Europe. There will be a tour hour visit in Gavarnie which will allow you time to take a walk along the river, shop in the craft shops or perfumery and enjoy a local café. Return to Lourdes. Dinner. Evening gathering at the Youth Village.

July 6, Monday
: Walk to the Cite Secours.  Mass for the children and youth, at the Cathedral De Verdue, (outside altar) followed by a group picnic.

Afternoon: Penance Service and Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Evening: Participate in the Torchlight Procession of Lourdes. Followed by a late night visit to the Grotto to pray the Rosary.

July 7, Tuesday:
Mass of the Anointing, Rosary Basilica.  Followed by visit to the Baths, Miraculous Waters of Lourdes.  Afternoon make the Way of the Cross on the Hillside (one of the highlights of Lourdes).

Participate in the 5:00pm Eucharistic Procession, Benediction and Blessing of the Sick. Farewell to other pilgrims. Dinner. Torchlight Procession followed by gathering in small groups and rosary on the prairie. Back to Youth village to pack and sleep.

July 8, Wednesday
: Early morning departure for Paris and continue by motorcoach to Nevers. Check-in for accommodations .  Visit the Convent of St. Gildard where Bernadette spent her life after the Apparitions. Dinner. Evening Mass in the Chapel where the incorrupt body of St. Bernadette may be venerated. Overnight.

July 9, Thursday
:
Early morning depart for Paris, continue to the Miraculous Medal Shrine at Rue du Bac where Mass will be celebrated. Visit the Shrine where our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Catherine Laboure, see the incorrupt body of St. Catherine and the remains of St. Louis de Marillac, who together with St. Vincent de Paul founded the Daughters of Charity. Continue to Notre Dame Cathedral for a guided visit.
Check into Hotel. Dinner.  Overnight.


July 10, Friday
: Early morning departure for LISIEUX. Visit the Carmelite Convent where St. Therese spent her life as a Carmelite Nun, the Chapel where her remains may be venerated and the Buissonets, home of the Martin Family and places connected with the life of, “The Little Flower.” Return to Paris, Dinner. Evening visit to Sacre Couer Basilica where Mass will be celebrated. The Basilica of Sacre Coeur is famous for its uninterrupted Perpetual Adoration since 1885. Located at Montmarte, overlooking Paris, the Basilica was constructed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and is characterized by its unique architecture. Enjoy the night view of Paris from Montmarte.

July 11,
Saturday: Depart Paris for your Hometowns.

AIR TRANSPORTATION:  VIA ECONOMY CLASS, PRICE TO BE DETERMINED DEPENDING ON CITY OF DEPARTURE.

RESERVATIONS:  Reservations should be accompanied by a deposit of $300.00 per person to be sent prior to March 1, 2009. A second payment of $300.00 is due no later then April 16, 2009 with final payment due no later than MAY 15, 2009. Final documents and tickets will be sent approximately two weeks prior to departure. 

CANCELLATIONS AND WITHDRAWALS: ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED IN WRITING.

FEES: CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED 95 or more days prior to departure - $150.00; 94 - 45days $300.00; 44 - 30 days 50%; within 30 days of departure 85% of the Tour price. **CANCELLATION INSURANCE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED, AND FORMS WILL BE SENT TO YOU UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR DEPOSIT** Refund requests received within six weeks of departure will be processed after the pilgrimage is completed. Claims for refunds must be sent in within thirty (30) days after completion of the tour.

The Lourdes Pilgrimage Office of Catholic Travel, reserves the right to make changes in the itinerary whenever their sole judgement determines that conditions warrant a change or in their sole judgement, changes will improve the comfort, convenience and safety of the tour. While we make every effort to keep the cost of the pilgrimage as published, prices are based on tariffs in effect September 10, 2008 and may be subject to change.

PLEASE NOTE: NO VISAS ARE REQUIRED FOR PERSONS CARRYING A VALID U.S. PASSPORT. IF YOU ARE CARRYING A PASSPORT FROM ANY OTHER COUNTRY, KINDLY CONTACT US SO WE CAN DETERMINE IF A VISA IS NECESSARY.
