THURSDAY, JUNE 24 –
 DEPART  NEW YORK/JFK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT FOR LISBON ON EARLY FLIGHT 1:05AM FOR PARIS. ARRIVE PARIS 2:10PM AND CONNECT WITH YOUR FLIGHT TO LISBON ARRIVING THE SAME DAY. CHECK INTO HOTEL. DINNER AND OVERNIGHT. 

FRIDAY, JUNE 25 – BREAKFAST AND SHORT PANORAMIC TOUR OF LISBON BEFORE DEPARTING FOR ALCOBACA VISITING THE CISTERCIAN MONASTERY of SANTA MARIA, FOUNDED IN 1152.  CONTINUE TO THE PICTURESQUE FISHING VILLAGE OF NAZARE WHERE YOU WILL  VISIT THE SHRINE TO OUR LADY.  TIME FOR LUNCH ON OWN AND FOR SHOPPING. AFTER LUNCH, CONTINUE  TO FATIMA. CHECK INTO HOTEL.  DINNER, EVENING MASS. DEVOTIONS AT THE CHAPEL OF THE APPARITIONS, WHERE OUR BLESSED MOTHER APPEARED TO THREE SHEPHERD CHILDREN IN 1917. 

SATURDAY: JUNE 26- FATIMA: MASS AT THE CHAPEL OF THE APPARITIONS. VISIT THE BASILICA CONTAINING THE TOMBS OF THE SEERS. VISIT THE VILLAGE OF FATIMA, THE HOMES OF THE SANTOS AND MARTO FAMILIES, THE PLACE OF THE APPARITION OF THE ANGGEL AND THE PARISH CHURCH WHERE THE THREE SEERS WERE BAPTIZED. EVENING ROSARY PROCESSION.  

SUNDAY, JUNE 27 – FATIMA/SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA: HOLY YEAR VISIT: AFTER BREAKFAST, DEPART BY MOTORCOACH FOR SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELLA, WITH A STOP IN PORTO. TRAVEL  ALONG THE COASTAL ROAD TO PORTO WHERE YOU WILL VISIT THE CHURCH OF SAO FRANCISCO WITH ITS STUNNING AND OPULENT INTERIOR. THE CHURCH WAS BUILT IN THE 14TH CENTURY AND UNDERWENT A REDECORATION IN THE BAROQUE STYLE DURING THE 17TH AND 18TH CENTURIES. FREE TIME FOR LUNCH . CONTINUE TO SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA FOR YOUR HOLY YEAR VISIT. IF POSSIBLE, EVENING MASS IN THE CATHEDRAL CONTAINING THE REMAINS OF ST. JAMES THE APOSTLE, THE PATRON SAINT OF SPAIN.   DINNER AND OVERNIGHT. 

MONDAY, JUNE 28 – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA: WE WILL HAVE A FULL DAY IN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA, THE MOST FAMOUS OF THE SPANISH SHRINES.  THIS CITY HAS BEEN THE THIRD MAJOR SITE VISITED BY CHRISTIAN PILGRIMS ( AFTER ROME AND JERUSALEM) AND IS THE PRESENT CAPITAL OF GALICIA. ENJOY A WALKING TOUR THROUGH THE COBBLED STREETS OF THIS MEDIEVAL CITY, WITH ITS BUILDINGS BUILT WITH GRANITE. VISIT THE PLAZA DEL OBRADOIRO AND THE GREAT CATHEDRAL THAT DOMINATES THE TOWN. MASS WILL BE CLEEBRATED.  POPE BENEDICT VI, HAS DECLARED THAT  PILGRIMS WHO VISIT THE CATHEDRAL OF ST. JAMES DURING THIS HOLY YEAR, WILL RECEIVE A PLENARARY INDULGENCE. THERE WILL BE TIME FOR LUNCH. AFTERNOON VISIT ALSO THE CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA DE SAR, HOSTEL DE LOS REYES CATOLICA, SEMINARY OF ST. MARTIN  CONVENT OF SAN FRANCISCO AND THE FAMED UNIVERSITY. GATHER AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT FOR DINNER. OVERNIGHT. 

TUESDAY, JUNE 29 – SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELLA – SANTANDER: MASS AND DEPART FOR SANTANDER, TRAVELING ALONG THE NORTHERN COAST OF SPAIN. CHECK INTO YOUR HOTEL. TIME TO REST.  DINNER AND OVERNIGHT. 

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 30 –BREAKFAST.  DEPART FOR LOURDES. ON ARRIVAL, CHECK INTO YOUR HOTEL. OPTIONAL 6:00PM MASS. DINNER AND OVERNIGHT. 

THURSDAY, JULY 01– BREAKFAST.  OPENING PILGRIMAGE MASS IN THE BASILICA OF THE ROSARY.  FOLLOWING MASS OPTIONAL ORIENTATION TOUR OF THE DOMAIN. 30 MINUTE VIDEO ABOUT THE LIFE OF ST. BERNADETTE AND THE MESSAGES OF LOURDES. FOR THOSE VISITING LOURDES FOR THE FIRST TIME, THIS IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. EACH DAY PILGRIMS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE OF THE BATHS (MIRACULOUS WATERS) OF LOURDES. BATHS ARE OPEN DAILY 9:00AM-11:00AM AND 2:30PM – 4:00PM. --LUNCH 12:00NOON – PILGRIMAGE RECEPTION – AFTERNOON TEA, GARDEN GALLIA LONDRE HOTEL.  FOLLOWING DINNER OUR PILGRIMAGE WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENING CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION WITH OTHER NATIONAL PILGRIMAGES IN LOURDES. 

FRIDAY, JULY 02 – BREAKFAST. MASS CELEBRATING THE CHILDREN AND YOUTH. MORNING FREE TO ENTER THE BATHS OF LOURDES. LUNCH. AFTERNOON PENANCE SERVICE AND SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION, FOLLOWED BY BLESSING OF THE SICK AND BENEDICTION. DINNER. EVENING FREE. 

SATURDAY, JULY 03 – MASS OF THE ANOINTING – BASILICA OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING MASS, GATHER FOR GROUP PICTURE IN FRONT OF THE BASILICA. TIME FREE TO ENTER THE BATHS, PRIVATE DEVOTIONS OR TO EXPLORE THE UPPER AND LOWER TOWNS OF LOURDES WITH ITS MANY SHOPS AND CAFES. LUNCH. HALF-DAY SCENIC EXCURSION INTO THE PRYENEES TO GAVARNIE, DEPARTING AT 1:30PM.  THE VILLAGE OF GAVARNIE WAS THE LAST VILLAGE IN FRANCE IN THE MIDDLE AGES ON THE OLD ROUTE TO THE TOMB OF ST. JAMES AT SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELLA. THE CIRQUE GAVARNIE IS THE MOST FAMOUS PLACE IN THE PYRENEES AND IS HOME TO THE HIGHEST WATERFALL IN EUROPE. ALONG THE VERY BEAUTIFUL ROUTE TO GAVARNIE, YOU WILL SEE MANY PLACES OF INTEREST THAT WILL BE EXPLAINED TO YOU BY OUR GUIDE. THERE WILL BE A TWO HOUR VISIT IN GAVARNIE WHICH WILL ALLOW YOU TIME TO TAKE A WALK ALONG THE RIVER TO SEE THE WATERFALL, OR TO THE STATUE OF OUR LADY OF THE SNOWS, SHOP IN THE CRAFT SHOPS OR PERFUMERY AND ENJOY A LOCAL CAFÉ. RETURN TO LOURDES IN TIME FOR DINNER. PARTICIPATE IN EVENING TORCHLIGHT PROCESSION. 

SUNDAY, JULY 04 –ATTEND THE INTERNATIONAL MASS OF LOURDES WHERE ALL NATIONAL PILGRIMAGES COME TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE THIS GLORIOUS MASS WITH EXCEPTIONAL MUSIC. FOLLOWING LUNCH,  FOR THOSE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE, A WALKING TOUR OF LOURDES WILL BE SCHEDULED; VISITING THE PLACES ASSOCIATED WITH THE LIFE OF ST. BERNADETTE: THE BOLY MILL WHERE ST. BERNADETTE WAS BORN, THE LOCADE MILL, RESIDENCE OF HER PARENTS AFTER 1864, THE “CACHOT,” FORMERLY USED AS A JAIL WHERE SHE LIVED AT THE TIME OF THE APPARITIONS, THE HOSPITAL AND CHAPEL WHERE ST. BERNADETTE RECEIVED HER FIRST HOLY COMMUNION AND THE PARISH CHURCH, CONTAINING THE BAPTISMAL FONT WHERE BERNADETTE WAS BAPTIZED.  DINNER. EVENING GATHERING SOLITUDE HOTEL TO CELEBRATE THE 4TH OF JULY. 

MONDAY, JULY 05: MASS AT THE GROTTO OF MASSABIELLE, SITE OF THE APPARITIONS. TIME FREE TO ENTER THE BATHS AND PRIVATE DEVOTIONS.  LUNCH. AFTERNOON MAKE THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS WITH THE CLERGY – ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF OUR LOURDES EXPERIENCE.  5:00PM PARTICIPATE AS A GROUP IN THE EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION, BLESSING OF THE SICK AND BENEDICTION. DINNER. EVENING CANDLELIGHT PROCESSION. 

TUESDAY, JULY 06:  DEPART LOURDES/PAU VIA AIR FRANCE FOR PARIS AND NEW YORK. JFK. ARRIVING THE SAME  DAY.

GENERAL INFORMATION AND CONDITIONS

RESERVATIONS: DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS: Reservations may be secured upon receipt of your deposit in the sum of $400.00 per person. Reservations must be received no later than March 24, 2010. Reservations received after this date can only be confirmed on basis of space availability and will be subject to a $100.00 late fee.  SPACE IS LIMITED:  EARLY RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. Payment should be in form of check or money order.

AIR TRANSPORTATION: via Economy Class, based on a non-refundable air fare. Airlines reserve the right to impose full cancellation penalties. Anyone wishing to deviate from the tour must request this in writing and the price of your air ticket will be determined on an individual basis. Airlines due impose a minimum of $100.00 deviation fee and a minimum $75.00 additional stop-over fee. Requests for deviations must be received at least 95 days prior to departure.

HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: A limited number of single rooms are available at a supplemental charge and they are distributed on a first come, first serve basis. If you are traveling alone and wish a share basis, we will do our best to arrange double occupancy. If a roommate is not available, the single room supplement will be imposed. If you prefer a single room, please advice us and we will bill you accordingly.  Again, Early Reservations are Recommended.

SIGHTSEEING: Via deluxe air conditioned motor coach, as specified in itinerary, English Speaking Tour Escort in Portugal and Spain,  English Speaking Assistance in Lourdes.

TRANSFERS & PORTERAGE: Round-trip transfers between airport and hotel are included with assistance and porterage in hotels. Porterage for one suitcase per person. Individuals are responsible for their carry-on luggage.

BAGGAGE: Allowed free of charge is one suitcase per person with a combined length, width and height of 62 inches with a maximum weight of 50 lbs, plus one carry-on bag with total dimensions of 40 inches and a maximum weight of 25 lbs. Catholic Travel accepts no liability for lost or damaged luggage. Baggage insurance is recommended and a traveler’s insurance application will be sent to you.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: All participants must be in possession of a valid U.S. Passport. If you are in possession of a passport from another Country other then the U.S., kindly contact us so that we can determine if any visas are required.

CANCELLATIONS: All cancellations must be submitted in writing to Catholic Travel Office. For cancellations received 95 or more days prior to departure, a cancellation fee of $200.00 is imposed, 94 - 60 days prior to departure, a cancellation fee of $400.00 will be imposed. From 59 - 30 days prior to departure, the cancellation fee will be 50% of the cost of the Pilgrimage and within 30 days of departure, your cancellation fee will be 100%. Again all cancellations must be submitted in writing and the cancellation fees are determined on the day your cancellation notice is received. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU PURCHASE TRIP CANCELLATION INSURANCE AND THE APPLICATION FORM FOR THIS WILL BE SENT TO YOU AT THE TIME WE RECEIVE YOUR DEPOSIT.

FINAL PAYMENT: Final payment for this Pilgrimage is due no later than May 5, 2010. Failure to make your final payment by this date may result in the cancellation of your reservation and the forfeiture of your deposit. In addition to the above cancellation fees, once issued, airline tickets are non-refundable. Again, Traveler’s Insurance is strongly recommended.

RESPONSIBILITY: CATHOLIC TRAVEL OFFICE and their agents act only in the capacity of agents in all matters pertaining to hotel accommodations, sightseeing tours and all forms of transportation. Catholic Travel Office except for willful negligence on the part of its direct employees, is not responsible for any damage, loss (included but not limited to property loss, personal injury, loss of enjoyment, distress or life) caused by omissions of any supplier providing services for this pilgrimage or by any delays or changes in the itinerary, or acts or omissions by the tour leader. Catholic Travel Office reserves the right to cancel the pilgrimage at any time, to substitute a tour leader if necessary or to make changes in the itinerary whenever their sole judgment determines that conditions warrant a change or in their sole judgment, changes will improve the comfort, convenience and safety of the tour. The price of the tour is based on a minimum of 27 passengers. If the minimum is not met, the price of the tour will be increased. The price of the tour is also based on tariffs and exchange rates in effect Aug. 1, 2009. While we make every effort to keep these rates firm, they can be subject to increase. Airlines involved in this itinerary are not responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on board their aircraft or conveyance. The reservation and ticket issued for the passengers on this pilgrimage will constitute a sole contract between the airlines and purchaser of this tour.

MEDICAL FORMS: Each participant of the U.S. National Lourdes Pilgrimage must complete a short medical form, which will be mailed to you. If you are in good health, you need only indicate this on the form with your signature. MEDICAL FORMS MUST BE COMPLETED AND RETURNED TO US NO LATER THEN MAY 1, 2010.

PLEASE READ THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS CAREFULLY, AS YOUR DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT FOR THIS TRIP CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF ALL OF THE CONDITIONS NOTED HEREIN

*PLEASE NOTE: If you are traveling alone and want a roommate, we will do our best to arrange double occupancy; if double occupancy is not available, a surcharge will be imposed.  If you prefer a single, please advice and we will bill you accordingly.  Single room supplement is $375.00.  Single rooms are very limited and are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. RESERVATIONS:  Reservations should be accompanied by a deposit of $400.00 per person with final payment due no later than MAY 15, 2010. Final documents and tickets will be sent approximately two weeks prior to departure.  Due to new airline regulations regarding group air fares, reservations must be received at least 90 days prior to departure. Reservations received after this date are confirmed on the basis of space availability and may be subject to a late fee of $50.00. Early reservations recommended

CANCELLATIONS AND WITHDRAWALS: ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED IN WRITING.

FEES: CANCELLATIONS RECEIVED 95 or more days prior to departure - $175.00; 94 - 45days $300.00; 44 - 30 days 50%; within 30 days of departure 85% of the Tour price. **CANCELLATION INSURANCE IS STRONGLY

FINAL PAYMENT: Final payment for this Pilgrimage is due no later than May 15. Failure to make your final payment by this date may result in the cancellation of your reservation and the forfeiture of your deposit. In addition to the above cancellation fees, once issued, airline tickets are non-refundable. Again, Traveler’s Insurance is strongly recommended. AND FORMS WILL BE SENT TO YOU UPON RECEIPT OF YOUR DEPOSIT** Refund requests received within six weeks of departure will be processed after the pilgrimage is completed. Claims for refunds must be sent in within thirty (30) days after completion of the tour.
